ICIG says in a new statement that the unnamed CIA whistleblower "had official and authorized access to the information and sources referenced in the Complainant’s Letter and Classified Appendix, including direct knowledge of certain alleged conduct."

More: Although the whistleblower didn't witness the July 25 call, "the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community determined that other information obtained during the ICIG’s preliminary review supported the Complainant’s allegations."
The ICIG is dumping on the theory advanced by the President and others that reporting rules were changed to abet the latest whistleblower. "By law, the Complainant ... need not possess first-hand information in order to file a complaint." (But also adds that the he did.)

Meanwhile, both the Justice Department and President Trump's private lawyers are urging federal courts to block Congress from obtaining financial records about the president, his private businesses and his family.
Justice is essentially arguing that the president's private finances are none of Congress' business.

Among other things, Rep. Nunes' latest defamation suit says a reporter "behaved like a sex offender or pedophile cruising the local neighborhood," apparently because he drove around and talked to people. It's .... not the kind of thing you see in a civil lawsuit every day.
But then, Rep. Nunes has been steering us through uncharted legal waters for quite a while.
Previously, Rep. Nunes, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, sued Twitter because a fictional cow was mean to him on the internet.

This is how federal plea bargaining always works. (And just wait until you find out about AEDPA.)
And if you think DOJ's reference to a plea waiver is outrageous in Flynn's case (where it provided info anyway), consider this: There have been cases in which DOJ conceded a defendant was "legally innocent" but sought to enforce a plea waiver to uphold the conviction anyway.

@megynkelly 2) "White House lawyers had authorized records of Trump’s call with Zelensky to be put in a highly classified computer system, meaning that the lawyers who were helping the CIA investigate the officer’s allegations were the same ones implicated in them."

Schiff's aide followed EXACTLY THE CORRECT PROCEDURE.

Disclosure of Urgent Concern form the Complainant submitted on Aug 12, 2019 is the same form the ICIG has had in place since May 24, 2018, which went into effect before IG Atkinson entered on duty as the ICIG on May 29, 2018, following his swearing in as the ICIG on May 17, 2018.
That's pretty funny that the old form was still up on their website a few days ago, since they claim it was changed over a year ago, and the current form displayed has an automatically generated revision date of Aug 2019
