As announced at #LatinR2019, the translation to Spanish of “R for Data Science” by @hadleywickham & @StatGarrett is complete ✔️ and can be found here

I take advantage of this great @r4ds_es achievement to tell you an anecdote.

Its audience is meant to be those that, like me_version_2018 🐣, don’t dare to talk to the R community 🌟celebrities🌟 3/n

The #r4ds translation to Spanish got its initial momentum 🚀 with a question❓by me_version_2018 to whom it took 24h 🕰️ during the @ropensci #runconf18 to be able to talk to Hadley and say something that didn’t seem silly (to me) 4/n

Thinking hard 🤔 on what to tell Hadley without sounding silly, I remembered what I was able to tell him through Twitter

The 2nd day of @rOpenSci #runconf18 took place
▶️ Me: Hadley, English is a barrier to learn #rstats in LatAm. When are we having your book translated?
▶️ H: Whenever you want! I will put you in touch with @theotheredgar who is also looking into this
▶️ Me (shaking): 😬😱 6/n

Immediately, at the same time as I organized the first LatinR and worked to pay 💸 my bills👩🏽‍🔬, I asked for help in the 💜 of #RLadies to get this project started asap 7/n

Many #RLadies from #LatAm answered right away 🥰💗. A meeting with Edgar was set up and the rest is a huge success of the Latin American community working together 😍 - you can find everything about it at @r4ds_es 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽8/n

The community enthusiasm was such that, by the end of #LatinR2018, all 📖 book chapters were assigned! 🤯

So instead of contributing translations myself, I revised several chapters 🧐 9/n
