Dear #MetalTwitter, please allow me to elaborate on something that's been on my mind:

If you are obsessed with hunting down #NSBM bands (whether they call themselves such or not) and whoever dares listen to their music, unless they are actually associated with neo-Nazi groups...

...then I'd think you are really just trying to feel morally superior -- otherwise you would've burnt Transilvanian Hunger from your record collection. But hey, they are Darkthrone, so everyone just pretends that incident never happened.

Do note that I'm a trans woman of color, so the chance I would actually be negatively affected by neo-Nazis is much, much greater than you whites. I'm not trying to play the race card; I'm just stating an objective fact.Think about it.

Let me tell you a story. In the 1960s, when the feminist movement was at its height, Camille Paglia had a fallout with other feminists over The Rolling Stones's "Under My Thumb". Camille argued that it was a great song even though the lyric was sexist. Other feminists disagreed.

And Camille Paglia has been purged from the feminist community ever since despite the fact that she has brilliant insights in many things. (Yes, she got many trans issues wrong, but that's another story.) What you guys have been doing is just like those feminists who purged her.

As a matter of fact, the whole history of rock 'n' roll (including punk and metal, of course) is full of sexism, racism, homophobia, etc. It's a tangled mess, and the grossly reductionist action you've taking isn't really helping anything.

That's all I wanted to say and this is the last time I touch this issue. Don't bother arguing with me, as I will not reply. I have more pressing personal trouble to deal with than arguing with people on Twitter. If you don't like what I've said, feel free to unfollow or block me.
