It is with #heavyheart that after 16 yrs in Party I have felt need to do so. I cannot sit back & watch Party corrupted by those who wld abuse their membership rights or subvert their officer roles – a Party which I & Greens before me have toiled over for sake of people and planet
I am raising alarm abt #seriousmalpractice in way members are being disciplined, now & in recent past, with regard to allegations of “transphobia”. I'm calling for urgent review of our complaints system & #specialmeasures to police these processes & safeguard against their abuse.

Many are panicking right now, due to the very high probability of an election this year. It's one which Labour could win (but I do not expect them to do so).

A longish (edit: too long) thread, giving my mostly subjective opinions.
Summary:
(1) Acknowledge the crisis in social democracy.
(2) Don't be scorched-earth Bennites.
(3) Recognize Corbynism re vera, not the bugbear conjured from our nightmares.
(4) Fight battles you can win.
(5) Realize that you cannot win without ideas.
(1). We have to accept that social democracy as an ideology is at its weakest point since the early 20th century. In Eastern Europe, France and Greece, most social democratic have been wiped out. In most of Western Europe, the parties have never been so weak.
