Like many Aussies, when I found out that millions of fish had died suddenly over summer (2018-19) I was in complete shock and disbelief. Having no prior knowledge of the catastrophe unfolding, I felt an immense sense of loss and sadness that still sits with me today.
I created this campaign to bring more attention to one of the most devastating crises in our nation’s history. An environmental tragedy that should be headlining our news until justice is served to those responsible and the Murray-Darling river is restored back to health.
Please sign, share and spread this message to everyone you know. Contrary to what many mainstream media outlets have reported, this is not a result of drought and every Australian has the right to know the truth.
Government officials responsible for the 13 billion dollar tax-funded plan to restore the river must explain in a court of law, why after 7 years the river is in worse condition than ever before.
This is one tragedy that can’t remain quiet or conveniently swept under the carpet by those who may face prosecution.

There is too much at stake, as summer approaches and river conditions worsen.
More mass fish deaths are predicted in the coming months and if there is to be any justice for the river and communities that surround, the people responsible for this environmental catastrophe must be held to account.
Rural and Indigenous communities are being ignored as taps run dry and vast lengths of the Darling river completely dry up. Locals who live by the river are fighting for an independent Royal Commission investigation to expose the truth.
Support their fight and stand up to those in power who have played a key role in destroying the country’s most important river.

The Murray-Darling is part of a wider river system that spans over one million square kilometres.
The impact of such fatal events will inevitably spread throughout the environment, causing irreversible damage to communities, wildlife, and natural habitats.
This is the water source for our country’s food supply, a cultural identity to the Barkandji traditional owners and a fundamental element to vulnerable ecosystems that define the Australian landscape.
People of Australia must stand together and fight to protect the Murray-darling Basin at all costs. Sign and share this petition to make everyone you know aware of what is happening to our beautiful country and encourage them to stay informed and join the fight.
