Dulal Pal was a Potter by profession. He used to live in the Alisinga village of Dhekiyajuli of Shonitpur district of Assam. In 1993 he received a D-voter notice. In 2015 the case against him started. He submitted certified copy of his land documents from 1965.
But since Dulal Pal could not give the original, he was declared foreigner in 2017 by the Foreigner Tribunal. He was mentally ill too. He was sent to Tejpur detention camp. Then, without informing his family, he was sent to Tejpur mental hospital.
Dulal’s sons, Ashish, Ashok, Rohit Pals say they weren’t allowed 2 meet him in the detention camp or in the mental hospital.After a lot of effort they could eventually meet him&brought him his new clothes in the Puja. But the police never informed them of his physical conditions.
On Saturday they informed the family that Dulal was in critical condition.On 28-9-19 he was moved 2 Guahati hospital suffering from diabetes&kidney disease.His relatives found him on floor.After his family objected,he was put on a bed in the medicine department.He died on Sunday
Dulal’s family refused to accept his body. During his lifetime police insulted him labeling as a Bangladeshi, sent him to jail, killed him by neglecting his health, but after his death police wants his funeral to be done as an Indian in Assam.
Dulal’s family demand that they ought to send his corpse to his actual address in Bangladesh. The villagers blocked the way of the police who came to his home.Finally, the district magistrate promised a proper investigation.The family has accepted his body and demand compensation
