1. Theoretically: the court can hold an agency (like State) or its officials (incl. Pompeo) in contempt w/o DOJ help, imposing fine or even jail time. HOWEVER, the courts' orders are executed by the U.S. Marshalls Service, which is under DOJ. ...
2. Historically: federal judges will issue contempt citations, but APPELLATE courts usu. find ways to avoid separation of powers probs/refuse to enforce them against executive agencies – but then, they've never had a WH (even Nixon's) so obstructive, so ? is.gd/dgw2Xa
3. Pragmatically: the WH/AG flat-out disobeying a clear court order would set the entire judicial system against Trump, probably including even some conservative members of SCOTUS. Never, ever think judicial decisions aren't sometimes affected by personal/institutional anger...

I'm guessing that was Snowbird (8,100'), which... yeah, they'd be dispensing Diamox from candy dishes. The other Utah facility they were considering probably was Canyons Grand Summit (6,800'), which also is high enough to trouble some folks.

So, legit to reject them, right?

Yeah... NOT right. Elevation info is available from Google, which makes me wonder why these two facilities made it to the final four that senior people actually visited before choosing Doral. Why include two objectively unsuitable facilities on the short list?

The Ivy League educated US Senator whose father was a bank president and who clerked for a supreme court justice is still out here trying to pretend he’s not welcome in the DC club he is an elite member of.
Nor was he “defending Missouri.” He was pretending to be outraged by an op ed that claimed workers for a federal agency could not afford to pick up their lives and move to a different state, and officials who made the move knew that and consciously used that to gut the agency.
Rather than take that argument at face value, he deliberately misrepresented the piece as insulting missouri in particular and then proceeded to lash out at a journalist with a more modest upbringing as a “rich elitist.”
