I know this runs counterintuitive to everything you see on Twitter, but as of right now, Bernie dropping out of the 2020 Democratic primary is primarily to Biden's benefit, not Warren's. The second choice for a plurality of Bernie's base is Joe Biden.
A lot of support for Bernie is just non-ideological. If Bernie drops out, as of right now, more of his supporters would flock to Joe Biden than Elizabeth Warren. Bernie's presence in the race has a dampening effect on Biden's lead.
This is true for Joe Biden's base too, by the way. Look who the second choice is for a plurality of Biden supporters.
