I served our nation in the Army most of my adult life. I fought in our wars and my progressivism was born out of that experience. Going, seeing, experiencing. Developing concerns that we had been lied to. The struggle of vets for care when they returned. The ?, why the struggle?
Once I started to ask questions I started to find answers. Not clear answers but things that eluded to what was happening. That trump actively has sold my brothers and sisters in arms only solidifies the knowledge that weve been getting used a while now by both parties.
This is not news to me. But it is for alot of you. Our patriotism was abused. By both parties. Ppl like Joe Biden. Nancy Pelosi. HRC. Obama. Bushes. Cheneys. We were tools for corporate proffits because war makes fortunes. I know one man that wasnt having it. @BernieSanders

1/ It’s simple to note: One has to subtract before adding. Give up what’s bad, before thinking about adding what’s good. True for habits, food, news and everything else.
#life 2/ We live in a world with many apparent "signals”.

We’re consuming:
- More info/news/entertainment
- More food
- More social networking
- More things to-do/work...

…than prior generations. It’s making us lazy and critically, disengaged.
#life 3/ It’s unclear what the signal to noise ratio is - it’s a function of one’s own consumption habits.

And separately, we’re prone to setting additional goals too:
- Read good books
- Eat a healthy diet
- Have fewer but better friends
- Work smart

etc.

A life that has seen Japanese internment camps, the violence that accompanied the civil rights era, the struggle for LGBT recognition and basic dignities.
And a career that saw him offered roles as humiliating stereotypes and having to keep his most important relationships a secret to protect it.

Yesterday I created a thread in which my objective was to point out my horrible experience at the @DeptVetAffairs office when I returned back, for mid-tour leave, from combat operation in #Iraq. Mind you, this was Feb 2005.
I couldn't believe how I was treated! I was sobbing uncontrollably, shaking, & suicidal. I wanted to end it! No more pain! And then to top it off, we were escorted off of VA property because my brother was shouting at the VA staff as to why they weren't going to help me.
Although the point was well received by 99% of you, after reviewing the thread, I realized how selfish it was. I used "I" when I should've been using "WE". I was NEVER alone throughout my combat tours. Deployed troops bond, show esprit de corps, and latch onto one another.
