Why do people attend InfoSec conferences when so much of the content becomes freely available soon after?

I’m thinking it’s... 1) a large block of time dedicated to learning and NOT be distracted by ‘work.’ 2) peer networking opportunities.

How off am I? What else?
Judging from the flurry of responses (thank you!), it turns out I wasn’t way off.

crazy-half-baked-conference-idea: cut back on the number of presos and how much of the day they take up. Instead focus more on facilitating quality attendee interactions.

Imagine.
Perhaps speakers could pre-record their presenations a couple weeks out and the conference distributes it ahead of time for viewing. Then when people get to the conference, they can better engage in discussions.
