Small aside:
Vedanta is “what comes at the end of the (learning of the ) Veda... or some would say even “beyond the Veda”.

Vedang (a) is a part of the Veda. Traditionally Jyotisha, Shiksha, Chandas, Vyakarana, Nirukta and Kalpa.

But before getting to Vedant (a) it’s important to know what Vedic knowledge itself is.
Frequently a lot of Neo Advaita people today say that “we are liberated”.
Well... IMHO, you are not, even though you think that you are.. or you hold corporate workshops which certify people.

The person ... ie you spends a huge amount of time in remembering their identity. The colour of your hair, the beauty or ugliness of your face and other parts of your body go to making the “you”... that is ego.

Ego is also identification with (not a complete list)
1. Your car
2. Your house
3. Your woman/or man.
4. Your children
5. Your wealth.
6. Lastly your knowledge.

This last bit... “point 6” or your knowledge is the most controlling part of your ego which holds you together.
This includes
1. Books published.
2. Scientific findings of note
3. Debating knowledge

Thus people identify themselves with their work and this is Aham too.

Occasionally the person learns a Vidya which is beyond the boundary of the normal.
Even more rarely the person learns something which can control both sides of this boundary between “you” “your great knowledge “ and “that”
This something is called a Mahavidya: Great Wisdom.

While there are 1000’s of Mahavidyas... the core goes 10 Mahavidyas which are into two Kulas:
Kali Kula and Shri Kula
The power of the Mahavidya is that nobody and nothing can stand in its way.. it is from the Beyond.. not of our world.

Why are these Mahavidyas to be revered and some are indeed feared?
Well, they dissolve the boundary of your personality which holds you together and that means that “You” become “That”
Awakening of the Kundalini is actually awakening “you”
You are Kundalini.

Therefore you cannot really awaken “Kundalini “ and all the people claiming to do that today are just fooling you... awakening Shakti means that if you survive, then almost anything which is accessible to that Shakti is now accessible to “you”.
It is Divine Possession 24/7

“You” will eventually forget that you are that name, face, knowledge, car, house and body because all these are now available to you at will.
Hence why will you charge money to mass awaken Kundalini?
Is it possible that someone in touch with Bhagwati will desire money?
It’s maila

That Bhagwati which you used to worship in the temple which people make pilgrimages to is now “you”.

How long can somebody survive holding that energy like that?
Look at Vivekananda: 39 years
Adi Shankara: 32 years

That is Kundalini. Swami Vivekananda worshipped Bhuvaneshwari in Kamakhya for 3 years. The ability of that Mahavidya is that anything will become known to you. Any knowledge at will.
That’s why Swamiji used to never prepare any talk. Just think of Devi and the knowledge will flow

And look at all the greats from the past.
This is Kundalini.
The foot is simultaneously in this world and the afterlife.
That is the ability of the Mahavidya: Great wisdom
Would anyone in touch with this power care about empires or wealth? Think about it.

Hence it’s worth understanding that the knowledge of the Rishis is “Vedanta”... Mahavidyas are Vedanta...

Worship of each of the above is dangerous and must ideally be learnt unless one has a “shouk” of getting a “shock”...

Now, what about Mahavidya Bhuvaneshwari?
See the Rupa of Bhuvaneshwari:
Seated, shant and soumya rupa.
How do the various Tantra books define this Mahavidya?

The goad in the left upper hand is a clue to the Mahavidya Bhuvaneshwari.
Despite Her Soumya Nature one must regard this with caution.
Which other Devata has got a goad in the hand you remember?

What about the lotus inside which She appears?
“Prakata”... these lotuses signify the blooming of specific chakras.. and Kundalini awakening. Here it is the Heart or Anahata which awakens.
The power?
To know the thoughts and deeds of all those around you.

The Shaktis of Bhuvaneshwari basically hold the Universe enthralled.
The Kanchi Shankaracharya of old Chandrasekhara Saraswati was an adept.
Bhuvaneshwari made him like a king with long lasting fame even after his death.

Even today 1000’s of people who follow Kanchi Matha will tell you stories of how Kanchi Shankaracharya Chandrashekhara Saraswati actually showed people exactly what had happened 100’s of years ago, in the present and what future holds in front of audiences.
It’s a matter of fact.

How Kanchi Shankaracharya guided one of the present day politicians and how he changed the life course of this senior political figure who is in the Govt and who then went on to help numerous causes is also well known.
