Holy shit! Even before A Planet to Win officially goes on sale, with our proposal for public rideshare minivans to plug public transit gaps in cities, suburbs, towns, and reservations, Berlin is introducing "dynamically routed on-demand shared rides"

Obviously we'll have to get more details as this rolls out (sorry). In A Planet to Win, our inspiration was Helsinki's Kutsuplus program, which was killed by austerity but actually showed a powerful alternative to both Lyft/Uber and private cars

Creative, dynamic public agencies are the ones who will revolutionize no-carbon mobility and freedom, bc that's what sophisticated public transit is for

So-called mobility companies like Uber/Lyft are just for profit

@triofrancos @zeithistoriker It's very cool when similar ideas are percolating all over the world, to me it says we're all on to something

@triofrancos @zeithistoriker Last neurotic clarification: in the book we say electric buses driven by unionized drivers will be the workhorses (sorry horses) of no-carbon public transit. To really slash private car use we have to go further. And we need solutions that especially shine at lower densities
