There's a good, general overview of the DOJ's recent #HealthcareFraud prosecutions.

2018 saw a record number of white collar prosecutions in several categories

2018 saw a 33% increase in prosecutions over 2017 & 40% more convicted at trial

They're currently on track to exceed those numbers for 2019.
15 total opioid-related Strike Forces in 24 districts
2019 - Healthcare fraud strike forces charged 354 people

Allen Scott Pillow, a Sheriff's Lieutenant in Greene County, Arkansas, who was also a former Arkansas State Trooper, was indicted for stealing FBI funds during an sting.
Greene had a "leadership position" in the narcotics unit of the Greene County Sheriff's office.

FBI agents set up a sting where they left a backpack full of $76,000 in FBI funds inside a vehicle in a Lowe's parking lot.
I assume that the FBI or someone reported something about the vehicle to Greene or to the Sheriff's Dept because Green went to the parking lot thinking he was helping out of state police officers and seized the backpack of cash from the vehicle.

Long Island, NY tech company Aventura Technologies and its senior management were charged with money laundering, fraud, and illegally importing surveillance and security equipment made in #China into the US.

The company falsely represented that the products were made in USA.
Looks like 7 individuals were also charged (that's on top of the company itself being charged).

Oh, and of course there was also government contract fraud involved, too.
OMG, they've been doing it since 2006 and that surveillance & security equipment was sold to our Military and other sensitive US Government agencies.

I haven’t seen this posted by the DOJ yet, but it’s being reported that 2 former Twitter employees and a 3rd person were federally charged with spying on specific Twitter users on behalf of Saudi Arabia.

Ali Alzabarah and Ahmad Abouammo are alleged to have used their Twitter employee credentials to access personal info about the Twitter users, including phone numbers, emails, and IP addresses.

Ahmed Almutairi was the intermediary between them and the Saudi government.
Ok, there is actually a source name - US Attorney David Anderson. He’s the US Atty for the Northern District of California. He confirmed the charges in a statement to media.

Maybe DOJ will post about it tomorrow.

Cohen's letter, written in August 2017 to the Senate and House Intelligence Committees, says, "I primarily communicated with the Moscow-based development company...through a

The Moscow-born Sater was the managing director of the Bayrock Group, a real estate conglomerate, while the 👉🏼Trump SoHo building in Manhattan was being built.

Sater also has a more colorful past. He was also an FBI informant in the late 1990s after pleading guilty to a $40 million 👉🏼stock fraud scheme put together by the Russian mafia.

The Department of Justice today announced Corey Amundson as the head of the Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR). Corey Amundson has replaced Robin Ashton, who left the position after almost a decade of service in the Office of Professional Responsibility.
As the head of the OPR, Mr. Amundson will lead a component of the U.S. Department of Justice that investigates misconduct allegations against Department attorneys, immigration judges, and law enforcement agents. He is the fourth permanent head since the office was founded.

So here’s the thing. I’ve told you all repeatedly that I trust Scott Schools who would be the senior career official referenced below in Sessions’ statement. I stand behind that now. I trust Schools (and Rod) appropriately and honorably on what McCabe did. I also trust /1
Robin Ashton who is career (not political) & the head of OPR. So what this tells me is 2 things: (1) McCabe screwed up something bad enough that Robin and Scott supported this; and (2) Sessions just put the icing on the politicization of DOJ cake. What is important to realize /2
Is that Sessions did not HAVE to fire McCabe. He had discretion to let the clock run out and let McCabe retire. He did not have to fire McCabe and usually - in order to protect the political folks - Sessions wouldn’t put his name on this. Sessions is on his knees for Trump and /3
