Here's how HomeKit Secure Video works with a Circle camera: once set up, you open the Home app and the camera detail screen. From there, you can set stream/record options for Home and Away modes.
You can also control notifications for people/animal/vehicle detection.

Detection is powered by Apple TV or HomeKit hubs on your local networks. Videos are encrypted locally before being sent to Apple for storage in iCloud.
Here's where it gets interesting: the camera view in the Home has a new timeline design. You can watch live video, as before, or previously recorded activity. There's a calendar too.
Motion events are indicated with different icons, and you can export them as .mp4 video files.

So far, this seems very nice. Will obviously have to judge once we're away from home to see if HomeKit can actually detect our dogs. I'll enable Secure Video for another camera and report back.
