This story has more of Obama’s actual remarks today, which are far more nuanced than the NYT story framing makes it seem:

And yet another quote from the Obama event that the NYT left out: “I want proposals that are bolder with respect to reducing inequality and giving people more opportunity and allowing us to make more investments in our infrastructure and our education systems and others."

Bolder policies with respect to inequality - sounds like a real centrist!
