1. STAYING POWER 3. Galatian 6:9 (KJV) – “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” We cannot see the fulfilment of God’s promises without staying power. It is a process. #Persistence
2. The fulfilment of the Promise requires FAITH and PATIENCE. Heb. 6:12 (NKJV) “that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” #Persistence
3. Heb. 6:12 NLT ‘’Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance. #Persistence
4. In my years of Ministry, I noticed that Faith has been extensively discussed and emphasized but Patience, not so much. The process of bringing the fulfilment of God’s word from the dimension of timelessness to the dimension of time requires patience. #Persistence
5. If you are not patient, you may end up a patient. Sometimes Patience is assumed to be waiting without doing anything but this is far from true. Patience is endurance which requires exertion. #Persistence
6. Someone described patience as sitting on a chair and having the chair pulled from under you while holding that position. It requires exertion is required to achieve that. #Persistence
7. Lack of patience is what makes a person eat fruit that is not ripe, worry, run red lights, or over speed and lose control. All of which can have dire consequences. #Persistence
8. To develop perseverance you need to be pursuing God’s goals and to control your attitude. #Persistence
9. Strengthen your confidence. It’s the combination of faith and patience that works. Faith is important. Hold on to what God has said. Deal with habits that create guilt. Resolve your mistakes and move forward. #Persistence
10. Don’t cave in with self-doubt and guilt. Centre your identity on the finished work of Christ. (Rom. 8:1, Heb. 12:1 NKJV, 2Cor. 12:9 NKJV, 1 John1:9). #Persistence
11. Focus on your ultimate goal (Heb. 12:2). Keep your eyes on the finish line. Satan likes to use distractions; so avoid Satan’s distractions. Focusing on your goal helps you remember that any difficult situation is temporary. #Persistence
12. Avoid naysayers. Not everyone will believe in our goals but you must learn to say what God has said with confidence. (Heb. 13:5-6). What God says supersedes what anybody has to say; so focus and face forward. #Persistence
13. Be part of a loving and supporting community (Ecc. 4:9-10 NLT, Gen 2:18). We are not created for isolation, we are created for connection. #Persistence
14. Life comes with challenges and is not perfect but our circumstances cannot stop God from being God. Learn to be vulnerable and lean on people. Community comes with advantages. (Heb. 10:23-25 NLT). #Persistence
15. Understandably, some people stay away from church when they need support because people they have trusted in the past betrayed their trust and decided to gossip. Let’s make church a safe space. #Persistence
16. In the name of Jesus Christ, I declare that I am a child of God, therefore I do not belong to the group of people who give up. I will not give up on until I see the fulfillment of the promises of God in the land of the living. #Persistence
