It is finished

These were the last words of Jesus when He died on the tree (cross).

Many would be wondering what exactly got finished?

The answer to this question takes us to the Garden of Eden before the fall of our first parents Adam and Eve when everything was perfect. 1n
God dwelt with mankind. He had given mankind the choice of eternal life through the tree of Life in the Eden. But man chose to eat from the tree that was forbidden. It was not that the tree was bad but it was man's disobedience that led to his fall. 2n
Sin entered through his disobedience and sin gave birth to death. Every person born on the Earth, who was supposed to be immortal, dies. Firstly, because he carries the nature of disobedience, according to our first parents;...3n
and secondly, he doesn't repent when God reveals his rebellious nature. Our first parents died in disobedience because of the tree.

The last Adam, Jesus, chose to be obedient to the God the Father....4n
Instead of dying because of the tree, he willingly died on the tree, so that one may see Him hung on the tree and get warned to not eat from it again. And even if one has eaten from the tree, he can confess his sins and it would be imputed on Jesus Christ....5n
So the answer to our question is this: Jesus consumed death by His death on the cross. Death's power is no more over mankind. The proof of this is the resurrection of Jesus after three days of His death on the cross. And we too will rise again according to the last Adam. 6n
It is finished. Hallelujah!

May we walk in this victory forever. In Jesus name. 7/7
