There aren't too many details, though it says he did these surgeries over an approximate 10 year period. So, did the women NOT know they were having their reproductive organs removed??
Or ....did he lie to his patients and falsely tell them they needed those surgeries when they really didn't?
Imagine being told you need a hysterectomy, only to find out later you did NOT need it and it was only done so the surgeon could make a buck.

The DOJ even created a separate web page JUST for this case & asking current and former patients to contact the FBI.

A hospital employee tipped off the FBI about this Doctor. They said patients would come in stating they were there for the "annual clean outs" and many patients weren't even aware of what procedures were being done on them.

This doctor's lost hospital privileges before for poor judgement & performing unnecessary hysterectomies. He got away with it.
Then he was charged with tax evasion. His license was BRIEFLY revoked, but later restored.

Ahhh, so here's an example. A woman who had endometriosis has procedures to remove the tissue, but unbeknownst to her, he removed her fallopian tubes & never told her about it. In the mean time, she was trying to conceive & found out her tubes were gone from another Dr.
