A heart of compassion, thankfulness & gratitude.

Yesterday, I was busy getting my house together for the holidays & I was reflecting on this past year's disconnection with family & friends.

I often think of those I haven't been able to connect with since 2016.
I really noticed the severing of relationships & disconnect last year...my phone doesn't ring as much...rather silent since last Christmas...no texts, birthday wishes, cards. greetings etc.

As I was hanging curtains...I decided to call loved ones & friends
I haven't spoken to. Someone has to extend the olive branch again. I decided I'm going to spend 5 minutes with each one while I'm prepping for Turkey Day. No talking politics, only love & wishing them holiday greetings.
I don't have to worry about any family squabbles, arguments many of you will face in the near future. I haven't traveled since 2016 to see family & friends. I'm only entertaining in-laws. I miss the banter at family gatherings, the laughter, the joy, sharing life...
I've been loving them from afar!😂

I figure if they haven't called me with bad news, they're fine! 🙏

It doesn't cure the division, disconnect, anger, resentment towards on another. The tribalism has cost us dearly in all aspects of our lives.

The hurt & pain has taught me to be more grateful, thankful & appreciative to those I do have in my life as tomorrow is not promised to anyone.
Today reaffirmed it as my day started pretty much normal routine...I had errands to run. I played hooky & as I was leaving, a client called, my time was limited & I couldn't assist them until tomorrow. I was leaving the PO when this lovely elderly woman stopped me to assist her
with a package to her car. As I was walking with her, she told me her husband passed last year & he usually took care of handling packages. I wished her a blessed holiday & off I go.

My 3rd stop was to the store to pick up some last minute items for Thursday.
I was looking at wreaths when another elderly woman engaged me & immediately began telling me about her husband's passing earlier this year & she was having some difficulty. In 5 minutes she told me about their 60 yr marriage & he was 88 when he passed. She is in grief counseling
Had I not played hooky this morning, I probably wouldn't have met those 2 lovely ladies who are sad, needing a listening ear & a compassionate heart. I hope they will be spending their holidays surrounded by loving family & friends.🙏
I hope everyone has a chance to connect with a loved one or friend this holiday & make peace if only for one day.

Today was an awesome day for me...to share a hug, smile & comfort to those who needed some extra love.
😊💖😊💖😊
I am thankful for the people who have enriched my life, & blessed with their love. On Thursday, I will say a special prayer for those who are without their loved ones & may their hearts be light Thanksgiving Day. May they also be surrounded with love.
From my heart to yours...

Wishing you a very blessed & Happy Thanksgiving!
