1. A Path Forward: Can I please make a suggestion? We The People just received an important legal decision from Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson directing that administration officials who receive congressional subpoenas MUST appear and testify. Can we please put it to the test . . .
2. rather than fumbling forward to a Senate trial on an incomplete factual/evidentiary record? Congress should draft subpoenas for NEXT WEEK for McGahn, Pompeo, Mulvaney, Bolton, Kupperman and others and attach Judge Jackson's two-page order (together with her 120-page
3. legal opinion) that says, in part, "Mr. McGahn's failure to appear was without legal justification." Put another way, McGahn's failure to appear was "illegal." If any of the named witnesses illegally fail to appear next week, the House should dispatch
4. Sergeant at Arms Paul D. Irving, together with a full compliment of Capitol Police Officers, to arrest those witnesses who fail to appear. Think of this - the prevailing wisdom is that the Senate Republicans will vote against conviction in the Senate trial on the record . . .
5. as it presently stands. So why in the world should the House move forward without fully developing the evidentiary record by using Judge Jackson's decision to force administration officials to testify - officials who have tons of incriminating information against Trump?
6.Moving forward "expeditiously" is no excuse for moving forward on an incomplete evidentiary record. Can't you already hear Senate Republicans saying that there is insufficient evidence linking Trump to the Ukrainian bribery/extortion scheme?
7. (yes, I acknowledge that Republicans would make that argument even if there was a videotape of Trump tying-up President Zelensky and holding him hostage until he went on camera and announced a fake investigation into the Bidens, still . . .).
8. Our Constitution is on fire and the House seems disinclined to fully deploy the firehoses. It's time to open the spigot and let the waters of righteousness flow: use Judge Jackson's opinion to subpoena those who can sharply incriminate the president.
9. Use the lawful vehicle of inherent contempt if they fail to appear. Hold this lawless, corrupt, abusive president accountable. Do it for and on behalf of We The People.
