This is what you can expect to see, and a society that has agreed to the lie that some people deserve life and others do not— though I have to admit this is a new insidious version of the lie.
Pete isn’t making the case against basic human needs b/c he wants to keep them from millionaires. He’s making them because his plutocrat donors want to keep them away from poor people.
He’s making the argument this way because plutocrats know an anti-plutocrat message can win and plutocrats would like to subvert it, and run a stable pro-plutocrat against an unstable pro-plutocrat.
