I just made an argument comparing professional “wrestling” and “start-up culture.” No Legs and Sonny Kiss are basically “disrupters.”
But the larger point is that there are good things about both! An (at least rhetorical) acceptance of diversity, a reflection of larger society. However....
The context is atomization and competition. All the players are quite literally fighting each other. Meanwhile....
The owners make all the money while the workers have no job security (even health care in the case of wrestlers) and usually end up broken and broke.
Both are a reflection of our larger society: Don’t expect to go to school and get a decent paying union job with worker protection and benefits. You’re on your own, sucker.
