The articles state Trump solicited foreign interference & obstructed the House’s inquiry. In doing so, the articles say, Trump betrayed the country, engaged in a “cover up” of his own alleged misconduct, & “ignored & injured the interests of the nation.”

MORE FRIDAY NEWS: House Intel Chairman Adam Schiff just sent this letter to VP Pence asking the admin to declassify Jennifer Williams’ supplemental testimony to impeachment investigators.
A House Intel officials says “declassification of this supplemental testimony will allow the Congress to see further corroborative evidence as it considers articles of impeachment, and provide the public further understanding of the events in question.”
In his letter to Pence, Schiff says Williams’ supplemental testimony is about the VP’s Sept. 18 call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Schiff says there’s “no legitimate basis” for this info to be classified.

Monday, 9:00 a.m. EST
Judiciary will “receive presentations” from Dem & GOP lawyers for both Intel *and* Judiciary.

Yet another indication that Mueller/obstruction-related charges are under consideration for articles of impeachment.
Monday’s hearing will begin just hours before the Justice Department releases its long-awaited internal review of the origins of the 2016 Russia investigation.

I'm the survivor of an in-person death threat against me & my family, from a MAGA extremist who hated me just for who I am—I fear him or another carrying out those threats.

I'm an attorney—I fear the erosion of the rule of law.
I'm a patriot—I fear Russian interference in the 2020 election.

I'm a voting rights advocate—I fear a system is currently being created that will lead to permanent minority rule, & that that minority will use political power to permanently restricts the rights of the majority.

It's time I had my say about #Impeachment, DJT's obstructionistic tactics, and @SpeakerPelosi's not pushing for an inquiry yet.

When AG Barr released the redacted version of the report to Congress, he did *not* include any of the underlying documents on which Mueller relied.

Just like a lawsuit, a case has to be built based on facts and evidence. Both the Intelligence Committee and the Judiciary Committee have been working their way through the system, including voting to hold AG Barr in Contempt of Congress. DJT has been fighting them in court.

Meanwhile, the Ways and Means Committee has also been working on getting DJT's tax returns. One of the Committees has also been working on getting records subpoenaed from DJT's financial management firm and from Deutche Bank, known for Russian money laundering.

We forget how much heat was on Trump in the first quarter of 2017: appointees were being investigated and resigning and mainstream liberals viewed him as utterly illigitmate. At the time, I thought an #impeachment hearing was likely, and that many Republicans would join in.
Things cooled off considerably for, as I see it, two fundamental reasons: The Syria strikes and Trump and the GOP’s mutual embrace.
The Syria strikes assured the Deep State (an often misused term, but a legit one) that Trump would pursue “business as usual” in American foreign policy; this was confirmed by an increase of troops in Afghanistan and more.

2. As with most issues before Congress, substance and politics are closely related but distinguishable. As to substance, the argument -- persuasive to me -- is that obstruction of justice, contacts with Russians seeking to influence a US election, corruption and the rest...
3...will do mortal damage to American democracy if tolerated. Not proceeding toward impeachment proceedings means tolerating all of these things, though it is possible to deceive oneself on that point. The political argument @NateSilver538 makes is about American voters.

There's no denying that #impeachment talk has accelerated over the past few months. But I'm not convinced that this past week was really such a Rubicon when considered in broader perspective, or that a handful of well-argued essays in liberal magazines are the drivers of change.
For starters, there's been no shortage of impeachment talk in mainstream publications since Trump took office. I've gathered quite a few such articles in this @ShallTakeCare database, which includes analyses tracing back to before Trump even took office. takecareblog.com/blog/impeachin…
