As we traveled the country, Americans told us they support bolder solutions like firearm licensing, cracking down on the gun industry & investing in violence intervention programs. America was ready to think bigger in order to build safer communities with *fewer guns*
By May, @CoryBooker announced a comprehensive plan that embraced the need to think big and bold to address our nation's gun crisis, helping expand the political conversation to include new voices and new solutions for making guns harder to get
Soon after, almost all of the presidential candidates began discussing and proposing firearm licensing, buybacks -- shifting the long-standing conventional wisdom that talking about making guns harder to get for everybody was politically toxic. nytimes.com/2019/05/31/us/…
Many presidential candidates even urged American businesses to lean into gun reform and recognize that their top business priority should be helping keep their customers and employees alive. 
As I think back on everything @gunsdownamerica has accomplished this year, I'm proud that we, along with so many amazing warriors in our movement, helped shift the conversation to embrace the diverse voices & bold solutions we need to build a new American future w/ fewer guns
