Bottom line: SAT/ACT are the least inequitable part of college admissions

Getting rid of them tilts the playing field further against disadvantaged students, who can’t game transcripts, letters, essays in the way rich can
A better test would be better! No doubt! But if we end up with a hodge-podge of different tests for different schools, we effectively make college apps more expensive

Guess who benefits then?
My high school counselors didn’t expect much of me

Not until I took the SAT did they start nudging me toward very selective colleges
