Bottom line: SAT/ACT are the least inequitable part of college admissions

Getting rid of them tilts the playing field further against disadvantaged students, who can’t game transcripts, letters, essays in the way rich can
A better test would be better! No doubt! But if we end up with a hodge-podge of different tests for different schools, we effectively make college apps more expensive

Non-profits: almost never $

For extended visit w multiple talks & meetings, $ more common

Best ever: $25K for a 10-day visit to a foreign uni 😳

Their partnership was enormously influential.
The Angrist-Krueger quarter-of-birth paper stirred a conversation across the discipline about instrumental variables and identification that now underpins modern applied economics

As many of you may know, colleges and universities all over the country are eliminating the requirement for standardized tests for admission.

One of the goals is to eliminate disparities in admissions and increase diversity.
There definitely are demographic disparities in achievement tests, regardless of whether we are talking SATs, GREs, ACTs or just about any other test. Racial disparities, SES disparities, and more.

A couple thoughts:
Staffing proctors sounds like a mess.
Will there be equitable availability of this option? Will all sites will have a computer ACT?.
Tutors are going to benefit--take one more bite! That means the benefit could advantage the advantaged most of all.
Here's the nightmare scenario and gamesmanship that ACT just introduced:

Take the whole ACT once as a sophomore in the fall just to get the "one whole test" out of the way. Then spend sophomore, junior, and senior year working on one section at a time. You'd have 11 shots.

Interaction Resiliency (iXR) is the practice of Software QA (aka #testing) as applied to "devops" or more properly Safety-II software delivery (aka continuous delivery & continuous deployment).
I put a name to "testing in devops" or "agile testing in continuous delivery" because a) those phrases are clumsy 😀 and b) the current discourse in #testing constantly collapses back on itself as big-A Agile + CDT are conflated time-and-time-again with Safety-II + Kaizen #iXR
