it’s obvious but saying it anyway: it seems to be a source of confusion that many fascists (like all good social manipulators, abusers especially) can be privately charming, intelligent, generous, helpful, & kind

they are good at putting others in their social debt

and putting principle over personal liking (which sometimes has even more power than personal interest) is genuinely hard

and not something people have a lot of practice doing

I worry about this
