Métis in Quebec weary as self-identified Eastern Métis in province on the rise disq.us/t/3khcqr3
@APTNNews what a load of BS .. There are tons of newspaper articles that the Metis do not know who they were. There was no clear cut cut line between Metis and NonStatus people, the division was made by MNC and the gov to help assimilate more people. Micmac News June 1979 - NO THREAT TO COUNCIL - President Viola Robinson says 75 percent of its membership is Metis because all children of a non-status are Indian woman are classified as Metis.

Alberta has also had a court case thrown out over hunting rights and the person was charged on both counts. lawsonlundell.com/project-law-bl…
scc-csc.ca/case-dossier/i… -- The legal proceedings against most of the other Métis hunters were adjourned pending the outcome of the applicant’s case. After a year-long trial, the applicant was convicted on both counts pending against him.
In Nova Scotia, Metis are in the bylaws and constitution of the Union Nova Scotia Indians since the 70's. Whoever wrote this article is either a lying hypocrite or a piss poor researcher like Darryl Leroux. Who is breaking privacy laws of Nova Scotia and is not certified to be
doing any work with genealogy which is actually required in Nova Scotia to be certified. 1975 - constitution and bylaws - Metis in Nova Scotia section 3.12
Darryl Leroux is also trying to whitewash Mi'kmaw signatories who are my 7th great grandfathers brothers. Darryl saying Mathew Mius is not Mi'kmaq.
Mathieu Muis. - Mikmak of Cape Sable in the Nova Scotia Archives - Darryl must have really looked hard to find that information ..
Mathew Mius - ratified 1725 treaty - 1726 signatory -- Better check Darryl's work a bit more closely he has an agenda ..
Mi'kmaq Treaties on Trial- History, Land and Donald Marshall Junior - By William Wicken -Mathew Muse.- I am sure you are aware of the Expert court witness and historian who testified for the Marshall case William Wicken? He seems to have a different opinion then darryl ..
It's funny @APTNNews , you can't silence me on my own thread, no telling me I am not allowed to share links to back up proof of what I say etc, which is what you and Darryl never do. You are going down in history as working in active genocide against a minority group.
Darryl made a post about a wayside cross and tried to turn into a totem pole to generate outrage because let's face it , he doesn't have much to work with. He is trying to sell a book and using old information that he has had handed to him from old forums online that have been
discussing these issues for ages, Betting Momma Porcupine sure didn't like being thrown under the bus by him in one of his last posts. No loyalty there !! Also you tell me, is this the work of a professional, it seems really odd you would be pushing the work of this man so hard
@APTNNews careful , you are starting to let the world see what you are really doing and I will make sure I document and share every step of the way. @UN @NSHumanRights @UNHumanRights
Acadian Metis have been harassed, lived through generations of genocide, scalping laws, death, deportations, burned and destroyed communities. You and Darryl, are just one more part of our story that one day we will stand up and tell the world about. @UN @UNGeneva @AboriginalPress
Kind of reminds me of Salem Witchhunts, you guys gang together, run to Darryl and he calls out people who doesn't agree with how they self identify. Guess what, that is a personal journey, You do not know that person's culture, upbringing, anything about them. It is scary .
It also goes against the privacy act of Nova Scotia !! @NSHumanRights @hrw @CdnHumanRights @UNHumanRights - showing identifying information online in Nova Scotia is against the Privacy Act. Or are the rules allowed to be broken by you? @CrownIndigenous
Nova Scotia Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
A Right of Privacy with Respect to Personal Information Held by Public Bodies in Nova Scotia. He has been sharing names, race and what considers their ethnicity to be.
The few ladies he has collected that were wrongly assumed to be Metis, have been shared widely in the Metis groups and that is old old news. That has been widely known for YEARS. He acts like he has just discovered that for his book. NO - he hasn't discovered anything !!
Another thing, @APTNNews William Wicken was the expert court witness and historian for the Mi'kmaw in Marshall case. I have shared this information with you plenty of times. Why does Darryl never talk about the legitimate historical Metis that have been in NS for years ?

Just wondering when you are going to stop dragging Acadian Mi'kmaw Metis through the mud ? @APTNNews .. I think my ancestors have dealt with enough and they do not need more of this, you should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself, considering we have lived most of the same
history as the Mi'kmaw people. 😢 .. We were kin and we used to work side by side .. So disgusted with aboriginal people who are doing this, knowing the histories our families have lived through .. My god, enough is enough !! @DarrylLeroux @APTNNews

Chartier - founding of mnc began to crystallize the shift in Metis identity - not as off reserve mixed-bloods-but as a distinct people - Well since MNC was incorporated in 1984 , that is one brand new shiny distinct people. - Right but Eastern Metis were incorporated in the Union

@APTNNews @APTN also Adam Gaudry, it is funny he is such an expert in his own thesis he says this -- He was raised Metis even if they never called it by that name. Sure sounds like he is applying different rules to himself and his family than others .. Hypocrite !!
