@NSHumanRights In nova Scotia Metis are being targeted and harassed by a professor from @StMarysU .. He has written a book called distorted descent and he is going to every province to say we are not the ethnicity we say we are. I have 4 Mi'kmaw treaty signatories in my family.
Is this a human rights issue ??
A person who self identifies as white, using a university position of white male privilege, to target and "inflame" hate inspired speech against a minority group. I would hope this would be considered a human rights issue. If so please feel free to PM to discuss further. Thanks.
University's in Canada are being used to promote this view and to "host" this person's hate speech. I find that very problematic and would not be tolerated against any other minority group in Canada.

Aboriginal identity.
studynovascotia.ca/canadian-cultu… - I can not find facts on self identity in Nova Scotia. I would assume if we are welcoming to others, that the same should be for our Eastern Metis people.

International Law and Self-Determination - the right to self-determination of all peoples was confirmed by the United Nations General Assembly in the Declaration of Friendly Relations which was unanimously adopted in 1970. - so why is this professor allowed to go and maliciously
attack people's ethnicity ?? - He even gets grants to do so and carry out his so called research which does not follow any Aboriginal Ethics at all because he personally doesn't believe the people he is researching are aboriginal. I could say the same about any other ethnicity
but I would have to back that up with facts and real research. Mr Leroux's research has been cherry picked to support his data. Just one example of what he has been wrong on. These are my 7th g grandfathers brothers. Darryl saying Mathew Mius is not Mi'kmaq.
Mathew Mius - ratified 1726 treaty - He is a Mi'kmaw signatory. He is a Mi'kmaw from Cape Sable.
