A definition locates a being within Being. It says what being it is, by means of genus and specific difference. But not everything has this ontological structure. In particular, lacking the structure of a being within Being are: Being itself, nothingness, God
Being is no more a being within Being than Space itself is a space located within Space. Asking for a definition of God is like asking for the location of Space, on the ground that Space must, after all, be located somewhere in Space!

As Heidegger notes, the fact that Being cannot be defined in no way makes the question of Being go away. Rather, it makes it more acute. 
Being surely IS, if anything is. And yet, Being is not a being.

“Definition” itself is rooted in logic, which is rooted in ontology, which already moves within a preliminary understanding of Being.
