Being autistic means I don't have a fucking choice in the games the people around me play or the ability to consent in whether or not I want to play those games. I don't. I don't consent.
Being autistic means that people get to pretend I'm crazy and every one else can nod their sweaty heads in agreement when I say things like, "You're attempting to justify abuse for financial gain."
Being autistic means that you can pretend I'm socially inept because I don't care what you think. And I really don't.
Being autistic and unmasked means that I am no longer compatible with society because our whole society is predicated on lies that keep the status quo in power. And I don't care about the status quo. I hate it.
Being autistic means you get to pretend I have no empathy or that I'm rude for telling the truth when the truth is you're participating in things that ruin people's lives and you think it's acceptable because everyone else is doing it.
Being autistic means getting all the credentials to be given a stake in talking about my own fucking life and still being dismissed because I tell the truth. That's why 90% of autistics with a college education are unemployed. Because we don't all silently agree to your lies.
And if you're in a position of power and got there by making autistic people into a business and declaring yourself an expert, then you don't deserve it. I don't care how hard you worked. You haven't worked as hard as we have. You don't know more than we do. Factually, you don't.
And if you think every aspect of humanity can be filtered down to behavior and reward-seeking, that's because YOU. HAVE. DISRUPTED. EMPATHY. You do.
I would rather die of starvation than use my privilege to be exploit humans. Here's a truth not compatible with society: Most of y'all are more concerned about how someone looks, how they're dressed, and how educated they sound than what they actually have to communicate.
Here's another truth: behaviorism is training autistics to do pointless things without complaint so they don't disrupt society's lies. Y'all are embarrassed by our behaviors.
What you should be embarrassed by is devolving to a narrative that reduces human beings down to the struggles they have in order to sell a product.
Try to break your autistic children every hour of every week. They grow up to be me. Still fucking autistic but angrier. I hate your status quo so hard that I see it as a living malice I will spend my days upending by telling the truth.
I wish some ABA proponent would tell me how they'd fix me. Fix this.
