So it turns out to be exactly what I said in this thread: an armed parishioner whose turn it was to be on security detail that morning.
Gun controllers already harping on the fact that this guy was a trained marksman. Yep, he was. As was the guy who stopped the Sunderland Springs church shooting. We have a lot of those around here b/c we own guns & train with them. 🤷♂️

While we're just making up numbers here let's say it's 90% - 90% of gun owners are Barney Fifes who will fumble around and/or turn tail when the shooting starts. There were over 10 guys carrying in that one church that one morning, so I'll take those odds.

We all know concealed carriers who shouldn't be carrying & can't hit the broad side of a bar, AND we all know concealed carriers who train regularly & carry trauma kits. The world is complicated.
When you know how low the bar is for LE shooting qualifications, & you read the QT replies from @Mr_Quincy05 here, you realize these gun controllers are unintentionally making an argument to completely disarm American law enforcement.

1. ONLY someone with extensive firearm training & demonstrated accuracy under pressure should be allowed to carry a gun!
2. ONLY law enforcement should be allowed to carry a gun!

@Mr_Quincy05 Another point: many (most?) of the private sector firearm trainers out there have LE/MIL experience. And what are they doing with their time?

@Mr_Quincy05 Great. Here is @RadioFreeTom, author of a book on the "death of expertise," promoting the myth that FBI agents are gun experts and crack shots. You can't make this stuff up!
