He heroically resisted Islamic persecution of non-Muslims and fought four wars against Shah Jahan's armies. His attempts to transform the Sikh community brought him in conflict with the Mughal authority.
He advised the Sikhs to take part in military training and martial arts to kick mughal's ass. Establish the Miri piri concept and transformed his community as a warrior class.

Banda Bahadur came to Sonipat and assembled a force of armed Sikhs and led the struggle against the Mughal Empire which was already weakened by the military efforts of Guru Teg Bahadur and Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
After establishing his authority and Khalsa rule in Punjab, Banda Singh Bahadur abolished the zamindari system, and granted property rights to the tillers of the land. Banda Singh was captured by the Mughals and tortured to death in 1715-1716.
