True: the average guess of 100 people independently trying to guess Person X's weight will be more correct that any single guess.

Also true: on Twitter they will form 2 factions of 50, one screaming X is dying of starvation, the other screaming X is an obese fat fuck.
The key difference here: in the weight-guessing experiment the only guesser incentive is to get it correct. On Twitter the incentive is to convince people you're correct and drag anybody who disagrees, whether or not you're correct
in conclusion: pay no attention to what the crowd is saying with its mouth, pay attention to what it's saying with its money

seriously, I don't get why movie consumers care who/what gets an Oscar nomination. There's no more than a couple movies in my top 100 that've ever won an Oscar, but whatever. I don't need The Academy to validate my enjoyment of 'Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!'

If we want to compare this situation to the hearings that changed public opinion on Nixon, there were hearings done for over 1 year that led to the impeachment articles being introduced, not the other way around.

Some of those hearings were done in the Senate. 2/x
The GOP Senate will not be conducting hearings in 2019. So anything that happens will be done in the House.

Even with drawn-out hearings, the GOP-controlled Senate will NEVER remove Trump from office. We live in a different world now. One where people don't believe facts. 3/x
