For #remote workers, headphones are kind of a huge deal.
When your best social interaction happens on calls, you want it to be smooth. When you have a crappy microphone, you sound 47% less professional.
I made this stat up so I can justify my headphone addiction.
What I am is fussy when it comes to convenience. I want the headphones to be comfortable!
This thread is to prove to myself that I DON'T NEED TO BUY THE AIRPODS PRO.
- have a great microphone
- are USB (pain in dongle world)
- are cheap ($30)
They are my go-to for quality calls and I even record podcast using e'm.
BUT CABLE 😨!
@Plantronics Backbeat FIT.
These are amazing for running, gym and activity. They NEVER fall out, controls make total sense (a bit rare) and are really tough & sweat-proof
BT of course (who uses corded earbuds at the gym?! STOP IT).
Apparently when headphones get quieter and quieter, you can try the frog-prince 🐸💋🎧 manouver. Works on the Airpods too.
VERY comfortable over-ear is perfect. I also like to wear them while working - especially in cafes and co-working spots.
Now I'd get QC35.
If they only had a boon microphone...
So far, no problems on software side, but they keep falling out.
I was hoping to use them on calls, but obviously not a boon microphone, so your surroundings matter.
That's a @TheTileApp on the back. Great form factor means easy to lose.
On paper, it's great for calls and works awesome for mobile.
Somehow when I use it on Zoom, @rralian complains about quality.
May be software thing or the fact that he's a musician. Have to investigate.
Great form factor, easy to carry, good for work.
If I want to be a professional remote employee, I need to buy PROPER headphones, not the ones I have, right?
Right...?
