So I’ve spoken with various officials at @Amtrak (COO, Last night’s incident is being investigated. They have apologized in private. But until a few moments ago I had not received an acknowledgment or public expression of concern - a courtesy routinely extended to customers.
This suggests additional problems. Because Amtrak did respond to other customers on Twitter. Someone determined that I would not receive that courtesy. That silence continued this a.m. despite the fact that from my conversations w/top officials my tweets had been read last night.
I will say that in my phone conversations this morning, @Amtrak officials were respectful, forthright and apologetic. And of course this is the rub. An act of public disrespect warrants a prompt public response. I think they knew this but it still wasn’t done.
