The idea that certain groups can possess cultural capital that equips them for success in certain endeavors relative to certain other groups seems anathema

Any kind of disparity in outcomes is attributed to casteism / outright discrimination
This cultural capital is not set in stone

The relative advantages of Group A relative to Group B will erode or increase with time

E.g. The kind of edge that Tamil Brahmins or Bengali Brahmins possessed relative to several other groups in 1960 is almost non-existent today
E.g. In a lot of top universities today, I notice a remarkable rise of several non-brahmin castes of Andhra Pradesh, as well as North Indian merchant castes - whose representation was far far less in an IIT of 1960

These groups have built cultural capital in the past 30-40 years
