Up to 50% of global bee species may be threatened with extinction:

'a variety of agricultural practices are contributing to steep declines in key pollinating species'

Population decline would be catastrophic enough. Extinction is a nightmare.

'agricultural systems are immediately vulnerable to *any* additional warming'

And we're heading for huge amounts of additional warming in the next 5, 10, 15 years. ⚠️

Food production is already suffering, and when warming becomes really extreme (1.5- 2.5°C by 2025- 2045 for example), repeated simultaneous crop failures (and extreme water shortages) will put huge pressure on societies.
