@HuffPostPol In Saturday's dustup, Sanders got tripped up for taking Biden's remarks at a Brookings event somewhat out of context.

So last night, he went with a deeper cut: 1995 comments about the balanced budget Constitutional amendment.

@HuffPostPol @CenterOnBudget It's notable in his ad that Biden focuses on his history of opposing Social Security *privatization* over the course of his career.

That was completely compatible with the adult conversation/everything on the table/Grand Bargain-style cuts that were de rigeur among Dems.
@HuffPostPol @CenterOnBudget The trickiest thing for Bernie though is that Biden's most recent brush with cuts is also Obama's: Efforts in 2011, 12 and 13 to trade a cut to the Social Security COLA for a broader debt reduction program.

The gaggle with Buttigieg just now was one of the tenser press availabilities I've seen with him.

I asked him whether he'd release the names of his bundlers and open up fundraisers to press. He deflected, I followed up, he said I'd have to check with the campaign.
Someone later interjected to say that he had been postponing answering when he will open his fundraisers for months now. He said he has "considerations" to make about that.

What are those considerations? He wouldn't say.

Doesn't he have the executive authority? Yes.
After that exchange, traveling press secretary Nina Smith ended the gaggle and walked off with Buttigieg.

1) Sanders' housing plan is a key point of contrast between him and Warren -- so being near public housing makes sense.

"It was a deliberate choice," says a Sanders aide.

@JuliaCarmel__ 2) The Sanders campaign and its surrogates won't explicitly say that *this part* is deliberate, but the location choice is also a juxtaposition with the more upscale setting of Warren's Washington Square Park rally.

Having some issues getting the newspaper clips onto our website but the Sanders campaign did not challenge them. Again, the point is that Sanders team says “adjustment” is understood to mean cuts but they say that is not true when Sanders used it. Here they are:

Am I in the twilight zone? Do I really need to explain why an older man (in a position of power) putting his hand on the thigh of a 19-year-old who had just talked about being sexually assaulted is WRONG? Especially when she said she squirmed to get his hand away?
