Asked by Chris Hayes, Plouffe says he didn’t know about Shadow or its app through his relationship with Acronym. Plouffe also said he texted the CEO of Acronym, who told him Acronym is an investor in Shadow—a separate company with its own board.

“We, like everyone else, are eagerly awaiting more information from the Iowa Democratic Party with respect to what happened,” Acronym says.
A few weeks ago, Acronym’s CEO suggested they had “acquired” Shadow.
The Acronym CEO’s presentation of the deal sounds like a lot more than a passive investment in an independent company to me.
