As I have said many times, I believe that Mitt Romney is one of the most capable and admirable people ever to run for president — and that the voters made a terrible mistake in turning him down. I’m glad Utahns sent him to the Senate. He is a credit to America.
I don’t know whether I myself would vote to remove Trump (though he is obviously guilty as hell). I can argue either way. But I can surely say this, using an expression I learned in Indiana — one that Mitt would never use: The guy has balls the size of church bells.
Obama-Biden ran an ad in 2012, saying, “Mitt Romney. Not one of us.” I’ve come to think that’s true. I think he’s better.
Now Democrats and Republicans can be united in saying, as the Democratic ticket did in 2012, “Mitt Romney. Not one of us.”
In 2016, Republicans had a tizzy when someone said, “Vote your conscience.” I see they’re still having it.
I’m sure that 95 percent of the Right will say, “Mitt Romney just wants to be invited to cocktail parties!” I assure you: He doesn’t want anyone’s cocktails. Neither do I. Have a nice day.
