As a follow-up to my article on the #WorldCup2022 for @PillarCatholic, a couple of notes on religious aspects of this tournament.…
1. This is the first time the World Cup is being played in a Muslim country, and only the second outside of the traditionally Christian world. The first was South Korea & Japan in 2002.
2. 2002 also marked the furthest a traditionally Muslim country ever progressed in the World Cup, with #Turkey placing 3rd, after beating South Korea in a very exciting game.

According to data released by Statbel, Belgium's statistics office, the country's annual inflation rate increased to 13.1% in October, from 12.1% in September and 10.5% in August. #inflation #Belgium
The data indicated that Belgium's inflation rate is higher and increasing faster than the EU's average rate of 11.5% which was 10.9% in September, as well as the eurozone average of 10.6% which was 9.9% in September.
According to the data, the hike in energy and food prices was mainly responsible for the high rate. Energy hikes contributed 7.2% and food prices contributed 2.2% to total inflation.

Long queues of asylum seekers have formed every morning for weeks in front of the Startpunt registration center in Brussels, where families in need of accommodation line up.
A coordinator at Startpunt, Helene Asselman, said that she doesn't see an end to this problem at least for a while.

"These last days, we are seeing more and more 15-year-old minors, families with four small children who have no solution," Asselman said.
