The Democrats need to take a hard look both at 2018 and at these numbers and recognize who the party's voters are now. Dallas county was a hard red exurb of Des Moines not long ago. These voters are gettable if they are not given the stiff-arm.
Mitt Romney won by 12 in Dallas county in 2012. Trump won by 9 in 2016. That 3 point move happened while the rest of the state moved to Trump. It's these formerly GOP deep suburbs/exurbs of cities are where the flippers are.
Bonus stat. Gary Johnson got .73% in 2012 in Dallas County and Johnson/McMullin combined got 5.8% in 2016. Those voters are very much up for grabs this time.

The Tory remainers are protecting Theresa May, when by logic they should be most anxious to get rid of her.
See, what the remainer Tories are doing is trying to keep Theresa May going long enough that an answer falls upon them from the sky.
They still haven't come to terms that the problem has no answer.
The problem isn't even Brexit, not really. The problem is that the Conservative Party cannot function as a minority government. They never can. John Major had the same problem long ago.
Cameron would have had the same, but he solved his by going into coalition with the Lib Dems.

2. He's absolutely right that the #Democrats need to focus on policy issues, but in ADDITION TO not INSTEAD OF Trump's actions and investigations. And, yes, in the 2016 election we failed to do that. Consistently unsettled by his behavior, we were stuck against the ropes.
3. It's not easy. As a voice of political activism, it's overwhelming. Keeping actionable focus on policy while still giving perspective and analysis on the inevitable 'shock of the day' feels like herding cats, but risking the normalization of the Trump era is unconscionable.
