One thing people grossly underestimate is the power of keeping a journal.

You'll never know the benefits until you keep and maintain one.

Someone suggested I get one over a decade ago, I didn't question it, I did it and I can attest to the benefits.
A journal helps you mine and refine the magic that's inside you. Your own handwriting also adds massive leaps to the manifestation process and it also makes it super easy to track results & long term changes/improvements in everything that you do.

We miss alot nowadays.
One thing that I noticed my journals helped me with, was being able to draw me to myself.

If you aren't careful, you'll constantly be striving for things not being aware of the doors you walk through that you were battling to get opened years ago.
Get yourself a journal trust me. Many different versions out there.

I am sure we are all going to party tonight. And reflect back at the decade we are leaving behind.

It would perhaps take a few years to understand what this decade was all about.
For India, 90s were about economic liberalisation, globalization, rise of engineering and IT, the first computers and ridiculous bollywood movies we fell in love with.

90s was the decade when love marriage began to become the aspirational thing.

Over the last 24 hours I have not been able to stop thinking about these two images which are about a decade apart. One of these is @rachaelray and the other is @RepRashida Here’s why:
@rachaelray @RepRashida Just over a decade ago @rachaelray appeared in a commercial for @dunkindonuts iced coffee sporting the scarf in the image. After it aired, Dunkin Donuts was attacked by right-wingers in the blogosphere (this is a thing that existed before twitter)
These right-wing, islamophobic voices claimed Ray was wearing a Palestinian kaffiyeh and that by including it in their ad, Dunkin Donuts was messaging support for terrorism. They threatened to ...get this ...boycott.

In two minds whether to tweet about this but I've got a looong bus journey ahead of me. I've been thinking about the contemporary academic workplace, and my experience of it in relation to other workplaces. This will involve some autobiograhical reflections.
Before and after my PhD, I was a professional heritage consultant, working with and for a whole range of clients and companies. After my PhD, I didn't have a straight academic path. I took on a big cultural heritage project because I was tired of being poor.
This was a rather horrible job. In the course of it I was subjected to a lot of verbal abuse from both sides. I was physically threatened and once attended a meeting I didn't think I was going to leave alive. I've never been so frightened in all my life.

One of the most dangerous ideas ever created by Boomers is the idea that you need to spend your twenties fucking around before you meet the perfect woman (or man). All this does is make it exponentially more likely that you'll end up alone or in a dysfunctional marriage.
Let me tell you my story. Over a decade ago, I fell in love for the first time. I was a late bloomer (lost virginity at 18) and fucked around through a bunch of bad hookups before stumbling into a girl I liked even when I was sober. She was a college freshman, me a junior.
She wasn't the hottest girl, but she was cute and my type. We had the same interests and similarly antisocial personalities. More importantly, she was humble and actually worked hard at the whole "relationship" thing, something I utterly took for granted.

Over a decade ago I watched an attorney for Immigration and Customs Enforcement argue in court that a specific immigrant holding facility did not have to operate according to established guidelines because the facility in question had never been licensed to operate at all.
True story.
If you're wondering, the answer is yes, the judge was completely outraged by that attempted logic.
