A cliché conveys an idea or message but loses its point through over-usage. The above, I'd argue, is a cliché.
It’s been proven over and over that we strongly prefer avoiding losses to acquiring gains.
We work exponentially harder to avoid losing $100 than we do to gain $100. But we lose more in the first scenario. We lose the opportunity to learn from the environment we enter when we decide to take a risk.
Risk avoided is opportunity throttled.
