So apparently some people honestly believe Warren is working with Bloomberg? That's a long con. So, she fought to establish the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau BEFORE she even went into politics to give herself the cred because she knew one day she would need to stop Bernie?
"Don't worry, my beloved oligarchs," she said, even as she railed against them in public. "I argue for accountability now so that one day I may save you. I can't be the hero you deserve, only the hero you need."
"I promise you, every dollar I claw back for consumers will be avenged sevenfold."
"No but she admitted she's working with Bloomberg and against Bernie. She said she was a capitalist."

I got news for you: Bernie's revolution isn't going to seize the means of production, either.
To most voters, "capitalism" just means that thing where you get a job, get paid, and buy things. They mean "the free market", some restrictions apply.

Bernie's US would still be capitalist, too, by that definition. Warren's meeting people where they live.
No Democratic candidate, including Bernie, is talking about returning the means of production to the people or having a centrally planned economy. Rather, it's more geared towards limiting what the people who control the means are allowed to leverage that to also control.
Like, "Sure, you can control the means of production, but people are going to eat and be sheltered and have healthcare regardless of what you think about it. So you really have to make a good case that they should sell you their labor. And we're watching how you treat them."
Both progressive candidates are ultimately talking about a market economy where the means of production remain more or less where they are, maybe with a little more mobility, and social features.

Call that regulated capitalism? Call it democratic socialism? Marketing terms.
Anyway. Earlier this morning I had someone calling me and another woman naive for not seeing the obvious truth that the candidate who is actively fighting Bloomberg and avoiding taking shots at Bernie must be teaming up with Bloomberg, against Bernie.
And since then I've seen several other people saying "the only reason" that Warren could have to stay in the race would be to help ensure a brokered convention that could flip it to Bloomberg, even though she's surging, Bloomberg's falling, and there have been TWO contests.
And... it just sticks with me, how much this entire theory doesn't make sense, from top to bottom, from start to finish.

Her "regulated capitalism" vs. his brand of "democratic socialism" is arguing about which side of toast the butter goes on.
