😳🤔Nah! Tie your camel! (Thread)

1: You are assuming here that being prepared for the worst dilutes or even negates good intention and/or tawakkul in Allah. And that’s a dangerous assumption. A muslim works with reality & does not do so naively or idealistically.
2: In an ummah in which divorce rate is high, social security is unheard of, destitution among divorcees is common & emotional abuse using finances as a carrot- stick approach is rampant, it behooves any thinking muslim woman in our society to strive for financial bouyancy.
3: The Quran tells believers to “take necessary precautions..” 4:102. The ayat was revealed in the context of upholding safety during fard salat at the time of war. Notice that SWT didnt absolve muslims of the obligation to be prudent & realistic even during obligatory worship.
4: Taking precautions & being well prepared for an undesirable situation is the sunnah of the Prophet SAW. He advised his sahaba to “tie your camel & trust in Allah..”. The seerah provides abundant examples of how SAW operationalized this principle.

Take the Hijra for example.
5: Inasmuch as SAW had absolute tawwkul in Allah, he did not just walk off to Medina thinking that Allah will protect him because he had good intentions & was following Allah’s order.

The seerah is clear: SAW meticulously planned for Hijra while waiting for the departure order.
6: When SAW received the order to migrate at night, he received the news from Jibril earlier in the day. He waited until ~midday, then covered his face, and went to AbuBakr’s house to inform him about the final order to migrate. He did so because he knew that ~midday was..
7:.. the least likely time for anyone to monitor him since that was the city’s nap/qailula time.

Aside devising a decoy plan with Ali RA sleeping in his bed, he, SAW, had planned for the exact cave to hide in, which is smartly located in the opposite direction of Medina. He’d..
8: ..planned for the provision of food & water by Asmau RA. To erase their footsteps, he‘d planned for bin Fuhairah to shephard a flock of sheep over their footprint. He’d planned for obtaining intelligence info from Makkah using young Abdullahi bin Abu Bakr. He’d planned for the
9: ..trustworthy bin Urayqit to show them an alternate route to Medina. Talk about preparing for the worst!

Similarly, a muslim (man or woman) planning for marriage (anything) should consider realities on ground & do their best to prepare for bad outcomes, while trusting in SWT
10: Could call it a motto or guiding principle but a muslim, by definition & in essence, approaches dunya thus: “The effort is mine, the outcome belongs to Allah, but I shall do my best to prepare for whatever situation He puts me in & do my best in it”.

May SWT provide us ease
Succinctly put: “Plan for the best, prepare for the worst, and have full faith in Ar Rahman”

Bissalam.
