Interesting op-ed in @WSJ exploring U.S. religious change "Thank God, American Churches Are Dying"

These grafs in particular caught my eye because there is a lot wrong here.
@WSJ 1) Having children and getting married does not inevitably lead to increased religious engagement. In fact, most secular people now have secular spouses.

@WSJ 2) Young people are being raised in less religious households and this religious apathy/disinterest is carrying over into adulthood. Of those who actually leave, most of them do so before they finish high school.

@WSJ This is not to say things won't change. And there is some evidence that the growth of the "nones" is slowing, but for now we're still seeing a continued rise in nonreligious identity.
