Is it believable? Or are they in denial? Or something else?

We have deep brotherhood with Hindus. "Whole night we went on other side of road and gave them water and help. But we did not see a bike burning."
BUT
We didn't see building and vehicles burning. We don't know that a man was murdered right there by mob.
Can anyone explain?

Also elderly says they never went on other side of road so that blame doesn't come on them. But youth says whole night they were serving water and helping. But none knows about fire and murder on other side!
Who is true? Who is lying?
