A thread of my despatches from Brijpuri, Chandbagh follow but for starters: two images—one from the Arun Modern Public School, the other from the madarsa at the Farooqiya Jama Masjid just metres away. 
38-year-old Kishwar Jahan had a clear view of the Brijpuri mosque from her house. “Jab Police ko dekha tha to tasalli ho gayi thee”. But they allowed the men with stones and lathis to ente the mosque. The police aimed the gun at us (indicating go inside)

On 25th Feb (same day as Brijpuri mosque attack) Arun Senior Sec school was arsoned. Lane outside school saw pitched battles. Eye witnesses say men came from mosque side, jumped terraces and caused mayhem. 2 shops in the same lane saw complete damage.
Perhaps the most clear, honest, unambiguous takedown of events in Brijpuri came from this man, Surinder Sharma—RWA member, who recounts “what happened to his side and what they did to the other side”. I’ll put a separate thread on it a little later.
