1. Apple:

A serious take on a traditional temple plan. Attempt at triglyphs and metopes; and even has an architrave above the elegant Doric columns. Shame the pediment design appears to have fallen off. 9/10
2. Google:

The center column blocks the entrance. Bulging, unsymmetrical columns in an unctuous teal. Ancient temples were painted, but not like this! Did it get trapped in an ‘80s music video? Is it ill? Is it a temple bouncy house? 2/10
3. Microsoft

Unconventional choices made with the stairs. Confusing slim twin columns with doubtful structural integrity; perhaps indicative of another life as a Romanesque cloister? 4/10
4. Samsung

A perfectly serviceable temple with Doric columns. Proper stylobate, capitals on the columns, attempt at an entablature. Nice color, shading, and depth—high-quality marble. Missing heroic deeds on the pediment. 7/10
5. WhatsApp

Weird stairs, good color, nice cornice on the pediment, and perhaps a hint of an attempt at fluting in the columns? 6/10
6. Twitter

50 shades of gray but no sense of fun. Confusingly flat. Perhaps built for stick figures? Square pilasters and an attempt at a pediment. Bonus points for not blocking the entrance with a column. 3/10
7. Facebook

Now that’s a temple! The rare sight of a distyle in antis temple rendered in emoji form, with a mysterious entrance into the pronaos, and shadowy cella beyond? Love the triglyphs and metopes in the entablature below the pediment. 9/10; would play this video game.
8. JoyPixels

Something mysterious has happened to the entablature, but the columns appear to have stately flutes and distinct capitals, so we can forgive that the pediment is way too big for the size of the temple. 6/10
9. OpenMoji

Mistakes were made here, folks. Where's the roof? Appears to have been constructed from a children’s building set missing key elements. Structurally unsound; do not enter. 2/10
10. Emojidex

The longer we stare at this, the more upsetting it becomes. Terrifying M.C. Escher vibes. The columns lack capitals but have bases, an odd choice. Disproportionate doorway gapes below slits of unnecessary windows—is it screaming? 3/10
11. LG

Vitruvius 👏 says 👏 temples 👏 depend 👏 on 👏symmetry. Five columns means one is, yet again, blocking the entrance! Pleasant Windows XP landscapes can’t distract us from this cheeky attempt to destroy classical orders. Also, no door. 4/10
